Police in Gore have arrested seven people related to the unlawful possession of and supply of firearms and drugs.

Nineteen searches were carried out as part of the operation in the eastern Southland area.

Police said three firearms, cannabis plants from two of the properties and more than $8000 worth of stolen property were seized.

The seven people, aged between 30 and 44, face 37 charges between them, including receiving stolen property, possession for supply of methamphetamine and cannabis, and unlawful possession and supply of firearms and ammunition.

Another two people were directed to alternative resolution processes.

"These arrests and charges should send a message to those members of the community engaging in this kind of offending that police will be knocking on their door any time," said Southland area commander Inspector Mike Bowman.

"Police are dedicated investigating and holding people to account for the harm they cause in the community."

The seven will reappear in the Gore District Court in the coming months.
