A 10-storey building in Wellington suburb Thorndon is the latest announced for demolition following November's 7.8 earthquake.
Revera House on Mulgrave Street was emptied after the Kaikōura earthquake while insurers weighed up their options.
Gunson Property Group general manager Mark Crosswell said the building had not suffered from structural failure, but it would cost just as much to repair the building as to build an exact replica.
The decision follows demolition of a 10-storey office block in nearby Molesworth Street, the Reading Cinema complex car park building in Courtenay Place, and part of the Queensgate shopping mall in Lower Hutt.
The Defence Headquarters in Aitken Street, just 10 years old, is also set for demolition.
