Police in Auckland have arrested a 21-year-old after an assault at a supermarket.
Officers were called to the scene at the Green Bay New World on Godley Road just before 11.30am on Monday, after a man allegedly assaulted a store worker with a weapon.
The victim suffered minor injuries and was treated by ambulance services.
Police arrested the alleged offender, 21, at the scene and charges were being considered.
Posting on social media, Green Bay New World thanked the community for its support. It said the injured staff member was "all good", and police had dealt with the situation.
