Two men were shot in Hastings on Friday night.
Police received reports of a shooting at a Berwick Crescent address in Flaxmere at 11.30pm.
They were then notified two men had arrived at Hawke's Bay Hospital with injuries consistent with being shot.
One of the men was reported to be seriously injured, while the other was reported to have a moderate injury.
Police said enquiries were under way to establish exactly what had occurred.
