The trial of senior staff at the Fiji Times newspaper has been brought forward to April.

The newspaper company and four senior staff, including publisher Hank Arts and editor-in-chief Fred Wesley, have been charged with sedition.

The case relates to an article published in the Times's iTaukei newspaper, Nai Lalakai, in 2016.

A four day trial trial was due to be held in December, but that was delayed after the accused requested time to engage new counsel.

The matter was called for mention at the Suva Magistrates Court on Friday, where it was announced that the trial will begin on the 30th of April.
