Loose forward Michael Leitch will make his return to Super Rugby from the bench for the Chiefs in their semi final against the Hurricanes in Wellington on Saturday.
Leitch has been sidelined for the last two months after dislocating his thumb against the Rebels in May.
Returning to the starting lineup is centre Seta Tamanivalu who missed last week's trip to Cape Town to face the Stormers because of a knee injury.
Tawera Kerr-Barlow has been given the nod to start in the number nine jersey ahead of Brad Webber while Sam Cane and Aaron Cruden will again co-captain the match.
The Chiefs team to play the Hurricanes is:
1. Kane Hames (8)
2. Nathan Harris (22)
3. Atu Moli (10)
4. Dominic Bird (10)
5. Brodie Retallick (70)
6. Taleni Seu (17)
7. Sam Cane (81) co-captain
8. Tom Sanders (14)
9. Tawera Kerr-Barlow (66)
10. Aaron Cruden (72) co-captain
