A suicide bomber has killed 26 people in northwest Pakistan. More than 40 others were wounded.
A motorbike rider blew himself up in a market close to a mosque in the town of Parachinar in tribal region of Kurram, near the Afghan border.
Three more people died when security forces fired on crowds of protestors afterwards. A curfew has now been imposed.
The BBC reports a breakaway faction of the Pakistani Taliban said it carried out the attack.
Kurram was the scene of an offensive by Pakistani security forces against insurgents last July.
