A bomb exploded near a bus stop in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi on Monday, killing eight people, police say.
No one immediately claimed responsibility
Islamist militants opposed to Pakistani support for the US-led campaign against al Qaeda and the Taliban have been blamed for a string of bomb attacks across the country in recent years.
The attack took place hours after the government defused a political crisis with the reinstatement of a Supreme Court chief justice but there was no sign the blast was linked to the political controversy.
