Thirteen civilians have been killed after a motorised rickshaw hit a roadside bomb in southeastern Afghanistan.

The villagers were travelling to receive medical treatment in Khoshamand district in Paktika province on Wednesday morning.

Paktika Governor Mohibullah Samim told the BBC that most of those killed were women and children. He blamed the Taliban.
