In a statement, Foster said he was 100 percent committed to the city and its people and would work with businesses to make sure the capital's economy recovered from Covid-19.

He would also partner with the government and work with the community to deliver integrated housing, infrastructure and sustainable transport options.

Foster wanted to also work to strengthen old buildings.

Tory Whanau and Paul Eagle are also campaigning for the mayoralty.
