Operation Dusk has been an 18-month investigation, targeting members of the Mongrel Mob, Black Power and Outlaws MC gangs, police said in a statement.

Significant search warrants have been executed over the past three days.

Police have seized military style semi-automatic weapons, 15 motor vehicles, cash and other assets.

"The National Organised Crime Group will continue to work across New Zealand to hold gang members to account," police said.

Six people - three men and three women - are facing drugs and firearms charges.

Two businesses are also being investigated for their links to organised crime, police said.
