Armed police officers are investigating a fatal apparent hit and run in the Auckland suburb of Māngere, in which a firearm might have been involved.

Police received multiple reports of a man being hit by a vehicle on Thomas Road just before midday.
The vehicle fled immediately afterwards and the man died soon after.
This afternoon police have been speaking with numerous people at an address.
No firearm has been found.
Police are calling on any witnesses to come forward.
