Maori Television has restarted its search for a new chief executive after it was put on hold last year following controversy over shortlisted candidates.
Alan Withrington, a general manager in the organisation, has been filling the role since October after the board failed to unanimously choose an applicant.
The board faced pressure over its selection process, with claims of conflicts of interest existing at the higher level of the board.
Chair Georgina Te Heuheu says the board has reviewed its recruitment criteria and is committed to finding the right person for the role.
