Rugby World Cup sales have hit 99% of their target, and the tournament has become the highest-grossing event in New Zealand's history.
The income from ticket sales is now $265.6 million. Rugby World Cup chief executive Martin Snedden says he fully expects to reach the target of $268.5 million during the final two weekends of matches.
Mr Snedden says there are still 7000 tickets left for the France-Wales semi-final on Saturday, and several hundred more tickets to Sunday's All Blacks-Australia semi-final will be released later this week.
He says he is thrilled with the way New Zealanders have embraced the event.
