A Tongan-born student has won the inaugural Teresia Teaiwa Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship in Pacific Studies.
The scholarship is offered to students at New Zealand's Victoria University of Wellington in memory of the renowned former Pacific Studies director, Teresia Teaiwa, who died in 2017.
Valued at up to $NZ6,000 per year, this year's scholarship has gone to Alilia Tupou who is studying towards a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Pacific Studies.
