Vanuatu's parliament will this afternoon vote on a government motion to suspend the speaker and two opposition MPs.
The motion, submitted by the Sato Kilman government which came to power in a vote of no confidence on Thursday, wants the speaker, Philip Boedoro, suspended and replaced.
The government also wants a former Prime Minister Joe Natuman and his deputy Ham Lini suspended from Parliament over a motion last year which saw 19 MPs suspended over bribery allegations
Our correspondent says many of those MPs suspended last year are now in the new government.
The bribery case is due to be heard in the Supreme Court on June the 23rd.
A motion of no confidence in the new government, filed by opposition's Edward Natapei, is expected to go before parliament on Thursday.
