Police have charged a man with murder over a fatal stabbing in Upper Hutt.
Emergency services were called to a property on Golders Road shortly before 4.30pm yesterday following reports of a stabbing.
Police said a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
They arrested a 37-year-old man a nearby address.
He appeared in Hutt Valley District Court this morning and was granted name suppression. The man will appear in the High Court in Wellington next month.
Police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident and a scene examination was continuing this morning.
