Written tributes, flowers and balloons have been placed on the site where a woman's body was found in a car near Havelock North.
Ariki Rigby,18, was found dead in the vehicle and a homicide investigation has now been launched.
Lying on the burned out black patch of grass where the car was found at the River Road reserve today were colourful flowers, and even a couple of beer bottles among the bouquets.
There was also a written message: "RIP Ariki Rigby you deserved so much more. You mattered, you were loved. So sorry this was where your life ended".
Police are still looking for information on what happened. Anyone who knows anything can call 105 or Crimestoppers anonymously.
