The police in Hawke's Bay are investigating four violent incidents involving guns and other weapons within a 24-hour period.

Senior Sergeant Caroline Martin said the incidents spanned 3pm on Wednesday to 4am on Thursday.

Three of the four involved a firearm being fired at a house - two in Flaxmere and one in Tamatea.

The fourth incident was a fight in Ahuriri about 3.30pm on Wednesday, when people from two vehicles threatened each other with baseball bats and other weapons.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Martin said there was no place for such violence in the community.

"We know incidents like this are distressing for the wider community, and we will have a visible presence in the Hawke's Bay over the coming days while we investigate.

"Anyone who sees anything of concern is urged to please let us know immediately via 111 so we can respond accordingly."

Police are also investigating whether the incidents were linked.
