A woman who was car-jacked says she thought only of her young daughter when she grabbed her from the vehicle as it was driven away.
Nikhat Ibnul and her daughter, aged 2½ years, became involved during a car chase across Auckland on Thursday.
Mrs Ibnul says the driver crashed into her vehicle, then ordered her to get out of her car.
She managed to pull her daughter, Zuhaira, who was still in a carseat, from the vehicle which was moving.
Mrs Ibnul says they have minor injuries and she is still haunted by the sound of her daughter's cries.
A man was arrested and appeared in Auckland District Court on Friday, on six charges.
