The high New Zealand dollar is curbing tourist spending.
Tourism New Zealand's Visitor Experience Monitor show visitors to New Zealand are very satisfied with what they find, giving it an overall score of 8.9 out of 10.
But the number saying they are very likely to recommend New Zealand as a travel destination continued to edge down, to 79%.
Satisfaction with the price of activities, food and drink and accomodation fell, and tourists are taking part in fewer activities while in New Zealand.
