Unofficial results from the municipal elections in French Polynesia show that two former presidents, Oscar Temaru and Gaston Tong Sang, have been re-elected as mayors in the first round of voting.
Mr Temaru retained the mayoralty of Faaa and Mr Tong Sang continues to be the mayor of Bora Bora.
Michel Buillard, who quit the Tahoeraa Huiraatira last month, is again the mayor of Papeete.
The second round of voting will determine whether Edouard Fritch will retain the mayoralty in Pirae where the To Tatou Aia candidate, Beatrice Vernaudon, was just short of winning an absolute majority.
In Mahina, Emile Vernaudon has take the lead despite having spent the last 100 days in jail as part of a fraud probe.
