Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash near Hastings early yesterday.

A pedestrian was killed at Omāhu, north-west of the city, just before 2am.
Police said they wanted to speak to anyone who may have seen a person walking around the intersection of Taihape Road and Korokipo Road between 1.40am and 1.55am.
They also wanted to speak to the drivers of two logging trucks seen heading into Taihape Road from Korokipo Road around the time of the crash.
