Two people charged with concealing the dead body of a child have appeared in court in Dunedin.
The incident allegedly happened in 2011, while the 23-year-old woman and 30-year-old man were in a relationship in Oamaru.
They are jointly charged with disposing of the dead body of a child, with intent to conceal the fact of its birth - a charge that carries a maximum penalty of two years' jail.
Neither entered a plea, and both have been granted interim name suppression.
They are due to appear in court again on 18 December.
