Tahiti assembly top staff in line for pay hike

15:02 pm on 21 October 2014

Reports from French Polynesia say the staff of the assembly president are in line for a substantial pay hike.

The website Tahiti-infos says the draft budget for 2015 provides for a 13 percent increase for them.

The draft provides for 23 million US dollars for the running of the assembly next year.

The boost comes amid an economic crisis and plans for massive cuts in the minumum wage in a zone set aside for tourism developments.
