Papua New Guinea has relaxed visa requirements for Chinese visitors as its national carrier prepares to launch direct flights between the two countries.
Chinese state media report government officials and tourist groups will have their visa application process streamlined immediately.
Air Niugini said the first flight on a new Port Morseby-Shanghai route will depart on October 23.
Tourism Promotion Authority chief executive Jerry Argus told Xinhua that PNG is trying to tap into the Chinese tourism market.
