Meth materials from Fiji drug bust to be destroyed

The Suva High Court has ordered the destruction of all the meth-amphetamine and chemicals to manufacture it seized in the recent 600-million US dollar drug bust in Fiji.

Radio Legend reports the order was issued in response to an application by the deputy director of public prosecutions, Peter Ridgeway.

All the drugs, chemicals and equipment seized in the raid have been removed at the from the Laucala Beach factory where they were found and are now in storage at Suva wharf.

They will be sent to New Zealand which has the facilities for the safe disposal of the drug and chemicals.

Meanwhile, the six Asians arrested in the drug bust will appear in court again next Friday when a plea will be taken
