Three men, one aged 18 and two aged 19, have been arrested over a Tauranga-based group's attempts to catch people trying to make contact with minors online.
They face a number of serious assault charges, and charges relating to causing harm by posting digital communications.
Further serious charges are possible, police say.
One is due to appear in the Counties Manukau District Court on Wednesday. The other two will appear in the Tauranga District Court on Thursday.
Police are wanting to hear from anyone who may be a victim of this group or has knowledge of the group.
A spokesperson said they were working to identify all people involved.
