China and Fiji are this week co-hosting a meeting of Pacific agriculture ministers focussing on the benefits of Beijing's Belt and Road initiative.
The meeting has the theme: 'Seizing the opportunity of jointly contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative, advancing the practical agricultural cooperation between China and Pacific Island States'.
It aims to promote practical agricultural cooperation between China and small Pacific states.
The ministers from China and Fiji will be joined by counterparts and officials from Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Cook Islands, and Niue.
