A person has been rescued from a house fire in the Christchurch suburb of Parklands.
Fire crews were called to the two-storey home on Curzon Place shortly after 6am.
A spokesperson said when crews arrived the lower floor was fully engulfed in flames.
A person was rescued from the home and taken to hospital in a serious condition with smoke inhalation.
The fire has been extinguished and is not being treated as suspicious.
