Nike to cut 1750 jobs

08:58 am on 15 May 2009

Nike Inc is to cut about 1750 jobs, comprising 5% of its global work force.

About 500 of the jobs will be at the company's headquarters in Oregon.

Nike announced in February that it would cut jobs as part of a realignment of its business.

Like many businesses, the shoe and apparel company has seen demand for its products slow due to the global economic recession.
