New Zealand officials are expecting to go to the first global summit on AI safety being held in the UK next week.
The summit on artificial intelligence is being held at the famed Bletchley Park in Buckinghamshire, where Alan Turing cracked Germany's Enigma code during World War II.
The summit focus is on the risks posed by misuse of AI, or losing control if advanced AI turns against humans.
The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment said it was liaising with UK counterparts on what level of representation is appropriate given the caretaker government here.
It said officials have participated in briefings on the summit.
