Several Dunedin businesses are still mopping up after a flash flood, and at least one has closed indefinitely.
Two blocks of the city's main shopping strip on George Street were flooded when a hail and rain storm hit the city yesterday.
One of the worst affected was the Noel Leeming store, which has been closed indefinitely because of serious damage to its roof.
Golden Centre Mall manager Simon Eddy said the Pascoes jewellery store had 80cm of hail pile up outside, and had to close this morning to get new carpets.
Dunedin's main after-hours doctors centre was still closed because of roof leaks.
Dunedin City Council received more than 75 calls regarding problems from the deluge and said at least 14 houses were flooded.
