Alois Kingsley is due to appear before a Port Moresby court this week, charged with two counts each of forgery, utterance and stealing.

Mr Kingsley, a former culture minister who was MP for Madang from 2002 to 2007, was arrested last Friday.

The National reports a police investigator saying Mr Kingsley allegedly defrauded a company when he illegally transferred shares.

The business owner is said to have entrusted Mr Kingsley's unnamed co-accused to run his company in the 2000s, when Mr Kingsley conspired with the co-accused to have the shares transferred to him.
