Five people have been arrested on drugs charges after police raids in Central Otago and Queenstown.
Three Alexandra locals were arrested after police officers searched three addresses in the town linked to the long-term supply of drugs on Wednesday.
They were charged with a variety of offences relating to the supply of methamphetamine and cannabis.
Two of them were charged with supplying cannabis to minors and about half a kil of cannabis was seized.
Two foreign nationals were also arrested in Queenstown after search warrants yesterday uncovered 2.5kg of cannabis, cash and LSD.
Inquiries into the operation were ongoing.
Detective Senior Sergeant Miriam Chittenden said the drug operations were concerning.
"Illicit drugs can cause significant harm, and in this case the sale of drugs to young people is particularly concerning," she said.
"Police have no tolerance for drug dealing in our communities and we will continue to root out and target these kinds of offenders.
"As a result of these arrests, the drug trade in both Central Otago and Queenstown will have been significantly disrupted."
