Justice Minister Kiri Allan and RNZ Midday Report host Māni Dunlop are engaged.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday evening, Dunlop described "a very on brand proposal" as Allan had to answer a boarding call at an airport and was ushered away.
Dunlop joked saying "who said romance is dead", with them not getting a photo due to the boarding call.
"I wouldn't have it any other way - love you, love our girls - our whānau and our hectic but lucky lives," Dunlop's post read.
Kiri Allan was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2021 but was given the all-clear after months of treatment in December that year.
Allan was promoted to justice minister in June this year.
