Former pastor facing sex charges named as Nicholas William Keig

18:43 pm on 4 July 2019

Name suppression has lapsed for a former Taranaki pastor facing indecent assault charges.

He is Nicholas William Keig.

Mr Keig, who was a pastor with the C3 Church in New Plymouth until May this year, made a brief appearance in the district court this morning.

He faces seven charges, which include committing an indecent act and indecent assault on a female over 16 years of age.

The alleged offending involves several different women and spans the late 1990s through to 2018.

Mr Keig has pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

His defence counsel made no attempt to have his name suppression extended.

Mr Keig elected a judge-alone trial and will reappear on 5 September for a case review.
