Drugs charge reduced for Millie Holmes

15:30 pm on 21 November 2008

Police dropped a major drug charge in the Auckland District Court on Friday morning.

Millie Holmes was facing a potential sentence of life imprisonment on a charge of possessing methamphetamine for supply.

The charge has now been reduced to that of possession, which carries a maximum term of three months in prison.

Lawyer Chris Comeskey says police will struggle to prove any drug involvement and he does not know why they started with a major charge.

The case will next be heard in February.
