Link between hearing loss and dementia

Yesterday, March 3, was World Hearing Day.

Hearing loss is the second most common cause of disability and a strong risk factor for cognitive decline like dementia.

Up to one in six New Zealanders experience hearing loss, and this number is only expected to rise in future.

Professor Peter Thorne is from the faculty of medical and health sciences at the University of Auckland and he joins Emile Donovan.
