Tonga remain in contention for a place in the Junior World Rugby Trophy final after outclassing hosts Hong Kong 39-16.

The Kingdom needed to win, after losing their opening pool game against Georgia, and ran in five tries to one in a dominant display.

Pool A rivals the United States scored a late try to beat Georgia 13-12, and are the only team in the tournament to win both of their games.

Tonga and the USA meet on Tuesday in the decisive pool game, with the Pacific Islanders needing to win with a bonus point, and prevent the Americans from gaining one, to finish top of their group and qualify for the grand final.

Meanwhile in Pool B, Japan beat Namibia 34-28 to leapfrog the African side into top spot while the USA and Uruguay drew 18-18.
