Police are investigating the death of a woman after her body was found in the water at Foxton Beach boat ramp, located 35km southwest of Palmerston North.
The body was reported at 6.45am Saturday morning.
A rāhui has been placed on the boat ramp area for three days by local iwi, the Horowhenua District Council said.
The woman has been identified and work is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances of her death and notify next of kin, police said.
