Increased speed limits mean more deaths on roads

The government's proposal to increase speed limits will lead to more deaths and serious injuries on our roads, according to a new report from the Public Health Communication Centre. The University of Canterbury's Simon Kingham says the correlation is simple - there are more deaths and serious injuries when speeds are higher, primarily due to increased stopping distances. He spoke to Morning Report.
