The Northern Mystics netball coach Helene Wilson is stepping down at the end of the ANZ Premiership season after six years in the job.
She's taking up a new role with High Performance Sport New Zealand as manager of the organisation's Women in High Performance Sport programme.
The programme addresses the under-representation of women in leadership and coaching in top level sport
Having coached the Mystics since 2017 Wilson has intended going through to the end of the 2023 season but says the new role was too good pass up.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and I love working with the players, and watching them grow and develop as athletes but also, more importantly, as people.
"I will miss them...(but) the chance to help develop and grow opportunities for women in high performance sport is obviously something very close to my heart."
