Tonga confirms first swine flu cases

Tonga is reporting its first cases of swine flu from two women, one from Australia visiting family in Tonga, and the other a local resident.

The Doctor in Charge of the Public Health Division, Malakai 'Ake, says blood tests sent to Australia confirmed the two women had swine flu.

Dr 'Ake told Radio & TV Tonga News that it is believed the Tongan woman who arrived from Australia has left the country.

It has been confirmed that the families of the two women with confirmed swine flu have not been affected.
