The Defence Force is investigating how a solider was injured while disposing of a flare at the Glentunnel demolitions range in Canterbury yesterday.
The corporal, who works in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, was transported to Christchurch hospital after the accident.
A Defence spokesperson told RNZ it's still unclear what the injuries are or how he got them.
