The government is trying a new approach to get people who have been in emergency accomodation for a long time into more stable housing. Two providers - Wellington City Mission and Emerge Aotearoa in Hamilton - will be tasked with giving wrap-around support to up to 100 people who've been in emergency motels for more than 12 months. The government will also pay the providers, depending on how long they can keep people out of emergency accomodation. But the minister in charge, Tama Potaka, won't say how much. Political reporter Lillian Hanly reports.
