The husband of a Covid-positive woman who left Melbourne lockdown and travelled into Queensland has now also tested positive for the virus.
The couple drove from Victoria, through New South Wales and across the Queensland border, before being tested on the Sunshine Coast.
Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said the husband had originally tested negative but serology results in the past 24 hours showed that the couple are both towards the end of their illness.
"Which is very good news for Queensland, in that means the risk of transmission to anyone else is less," she said.
"It's still there, and I still need everyone to come forward who develops any symptoms at all who lives in the Sunshine Coast, or Goondiwindi or Toowoomba."
Health authorities have identified 17 close contacts of the pair.
So far three of those contacts have tested negative, including the parents the couple had been staying with at Caloundra.
Another six people tested positive in Queensland in the past 24 hours, however they were all in hotel quarantine.
Health Minister Yvette D'Ath said authorities would not be locking down hospitals, residential aged care, residential disabilities.
However if visitors had been to an exposure venue, they "cannot access any of those particular high-risk sites over the next 14 days".
Police are investigating whether health directives were breached by the couple, who visited a number of locations as they crossed into the state by road.
A list of exposure sites has been issued, including venues at the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Goondiwindi.
Dr Young said 400 people who had attended one of those sites had already come forward.
"We're seeing a lot of testing already started, that needs to continue, just so we can make sure that there hasn't been any transmission out there."
