Fijians planning to visit Europe will no longer need to travel to Vanuatu, Australia or New Zealand to apply for a visa.
From September, they can apply for a European Schengen Visa in Suva.
FBC News reported Fijians have had to incur the additional costs of travelling abroad to apply for the visa since the French Embassy closed its visa section in 2017.
But French Ambassador Sujuro Seam said this would change in September when the embassy would outsource its visa service in the Fijian capital.
