A radio station in Papua New Guinea says police must investigate the assault of two of its journalists when disciplinary forces personnel stormed parliament last Tuesday.
Genesis Ketan, the news director of PNG FM, says he was very disappointed by the treatment meted out to his staff.
He says they were simply there to do their jobs.
One of the journalists, a woman, was manhandled by the errant officers who tried to rip her shirt off while her camera was taken from her bag and smashed.
She reported one of the officers called for the journalists to be beaten up.
The male reporter with her was repeatedly punched.
Both the Correctional Service Commissioner Stephen Pokanis and the Police Commissioner Gary Baki have agreed to investigate.
