A person has died after a two-vehicle crash in the Bay of Plenty on Monday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway 2 in Pukehina just before 2pm.
Police said the driver of the other vehicle was in hospital with serious injuries.
The Serious Crash Unit conducted a scene examination and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash were ongoing.
